22 & 23 February 2024 (Thu & Fri) 8:00pm
Approximately 1 hour without intermission
Indulge in an intimate evening with the talented Young Pro Platform string players as they serenade you with soothing chamber music, accompanied by AI-generated visuals and immersive lighting designs.
The night will commence with a touch of Kurtág’s minimalistic Officium Breve, followed by Webern’s charming piece Langsamer Satz, which was inspired by the composer’s hiking trip in Austria. Despite disapproval from Ravel’s teacher Fauré, his String Quartet received validation from Debussy, who encouraged the composer not to make any changes. The concert will be concluded by Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, interspersing subtle glimpses of classical and baroque music amidst modern idioms, bringing ultimate calmness to the performance.
